Triathlon: Ironman North America Triathlon hires new Director of Sponsorship

BOULDER, Colo.—Thomas Miller (Orange County, Calif.) has been named the Director of Sponsorship for Ironman North America, organizers of eight Ironman events in the U.S. and Canada.

Miller owned a highly successful chain of personal training studios known as “Body Works” in Northern California and split time as a triathlon coach before joining the Ironman team in May. Miller, a nine-time Ironman finisher and one of the most sought after spinning instructors in the state of California, also had a successful tenure with Star Trac Fitness Equipment, where he was the National Sales Manager for the Consumer Division from 1997 to 2003.

Miller will be the point person for the major sponsors of Ironman North America Triathlon and will execute the corporate objectives of these sponsors, including Ford Motor Vehicles and Janus, a Denver-based investment management firm.

“For the past six years Ironman North America has perfected the presentation of swim, bike and run in the form of Ironman,” Miller said. “My goal for the sponsorship department will be to perfect and round out the rest of our presentation which include banquets, sponsor and VIP experiences as well as the athlete village.”
