Athletics: Park Forest Scenic 10 Mile Slated for 28th Traditional Running on Labor Day

PARK FOREST, Ill. - (August 29, 2005) - The 28th Annual Park Forest Scenic 10 Mile Run will take place on Monday, September 5 at 8am in south suburban Park Forest just south of Chicago. The famous "Race with the string quartet" will again run thru the forest preserves of Cook County where runners should encounter the string quartet as well as a variety of forest animals. There will be an expected 16-18 musical surprises along the way to entertain the field of nearly 2,000 runners in the 10 miler.

This year, the invited field of athletes has its usual international flavor with athletes from South Korea, Kenya, Ukraine, Russia, Australia and several top U.S. athletes. There is over $20,000 in prize money and awards available.
