Richmond Park Golf Club have kindly closed both of the stunning 18 hole courses for the day of the race in order to support the event and thus raise the maximum amount of money for the event charity. Event Director Nick Rusling commented: “We have been overwhelmed by the number of entrants to our first ever London Duathlon, putting us on target for being the largest in the world. In particular we have had a great amount of support from Londoners, we can only assume they are all getting into the Olympic spirit!” Laura Lee, Chief Executive of Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres commented: "Maggie's are very excited about this event and delighted to know so many people are taking part to raise money to help build the first Maggie's Centre in London. We know those entered in this event have set themselves a hard challenge but their efforts will result in Maggie's being able to offer all those going through the challenge of a diagnosis of cancer."
