Triathlon: 2006 Ford Ironman Wisconsin sells out in less than seven hours

MADISON, WISC.-The 2006 Ford Ironman Wisconsin is officially closed to general entry. The event, which will take place for the fifth time in Madison, Wisc., ended seven hours after registration opened on Monday, Sept. 12.

Ford Ironman Wisconsin is considered one of the most popular events in the world of triathlon. The 2005 event featured 2,076 athletes battling for 80 qualifying spots to the 2005 Ford Ironman World Championship, as well as a $30,000 pro-prize purse.
