Blue Line:

The Blue Line, the shortest course to the finish, will be applied to the streets on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 starting at 8:30 a.m. with a police escort, as part of the course runs against traffic. Meeting point: 8:30 a.m., Kleiner Stern roundabout, Straße des 17. Juni.

Medals:

All participants who reach the finish will receive a medal donning an image of Mizuki Noguchi, the female Olympic champion in Athens 2004. The certificate, which all participants will receive a few weeks after the marathon together with the list of results, is also adorned with the motive of Noguchi.

Sunflowers:

Every female participant will receive a sunflower at the finish.

Grandstands:

Up to 7,000 spectators will be able to experience the final stretch up close on standing room grandstands at the finish line. Best spots for those who get there early! The first participants of the real,- MINI-MARATHON are expected at around 9 a.m. and from then on it will be busy!

Final stretch:

The boulevard "Unter den Linden" makes up the extended final stretch, where the last kilometre will be celebrated. Music and catering for the spectators are to help create the marathon feeling like it was on the Kurfürstendamm. The square Pariser Platz will be shared by both runners and spectators.

Music Marathon:

Everything is easier with music, even running. SCC-RUNNING calls all Berliners to contribute to the city’s biggest running celebration with music. That includes music groups and instruments along the course, radio music, and whatever else you can find! Over 60 music groups and jazz bands (with over 600 musicians) will be playing along the course, with a great number of samba teams firing up the participants.

Massages:

Six Berlin schools of physiotherapy will be offering a special service for your maltreated muscles. 360 students will knead your hard muscles soft again along the course and at the finish.

Television:

The television station RBB will be broadcasting live from Germany’s largest sporting event.

ARD: 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
RBB: 11:30 – 2 p.m.
FUJI TV will broadcast live to Japan.

List of Results:

On Monday, September 26, 2005, the Berlin newspaper Berliner Morgenpost will publish a preliminary list of results with the times of all participants.
