Posted: September 21, 2005 Triathlon: 2006 Ford Ironman Arizona Sold Out BOULDER, Colo.—The 2006 Ford Ironman Arizona is officially closed to general entry. The event, which will take place for the second time in Tempe, Ariz., on April 9, 2006, closed on Sept. 21. The 2005 inaugural event featured 1,830 athletes from 25 countries competing for 80 qualifying spots to the 2005 Ford Ironman World Championship held annually in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, as well as a $75,000 pro-prize purse. There will be 150 slots made available through the Ironman Community Fund for the 2006 Ford Ironman Arizona. Each event with available slots will show an active link on the entry tracker. Click on a specific race, and the request form (pdf) will appear. Instructions are provided on the request form.
