Posted: September 23, 2005 Athletics: Berlin Marathon Press conference Highlights - Friday, 23rd September 2005 Driss El Himer, best European runner in the field (PB: 2:06:48 hours) ”I know that Berlin has a very fast course. I am here to attack the European Record of 2:06:36 hours. I have prepared in France, have been in high altitude training and I am feeling very well for Sunday.” Luminita Zaituc, best German runner (PB: 2:26:01 hours) ”I love running and I am very well prepared. I will run my own pace on Sunday. And I will have two pacemakers, but I will no earlier than right before the race decide what split times I want to run. That depends on how I feel.” Lennart Sponar, fastest Berlin runner, runs his first marathon on Sunday ”I really think that I am prepared very well for Sunday. I am confident to master the 42 k. I am really looking forward to Sunday.” Errol Marklein, winner of the real,- BERLIN MARATHON 2004 for handbiker ”Also for us as handicapped people the performance is in the foreground.
