Athletics: Ottawa's Paula Hickman Establishes New Canadian Masters 55+ Road Best for 10K

Paula Hickman, a member of the Ottawa Athletic Club Racing Team, raced to a new 10K Canadian Masters "Best Time" for women 55+ in the Perley 10K Run in Ottawa on Saturday.

Paula ran 41:07 to beat the previous best time of 41:58 set by Molly Turner in 1993.

Because of significant differences in road race courses, the Canadian Masters Athletic Association (CMAA) refers to these times as "bests" rather than records, in order to differentiate them from times on standardized track & field courses.

Paula's performance must be approved by the CMAA.
