Posted: October 3, 2005 Athletics: Band Search Underway For 2006 P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona® Organizers seek bands performing salsa, reggae, R&B, alternative, classic rock and country PHOENIX, Ariz, (Oct. 3, 2005) - The P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon is now recruiting bands to play at the third annual event in the Valley of the Sun on January 15, 2006. More than 30,000 participants will run and walk the 26.2 and 13.1-mile courses to the unique sounds of over 50 live bands selected to perform at the race. Those chosen will play on one of 40 entertainment stages positioned along each mile of the courses and will have an opportunity to be showcased on local and national television. The bands set the tempo for this 26.2 and 13.1-mile party, where runners and spectators alike will be Dancin' in the Streets to 40 mini-concerts. Organizers are looking for all formats of music for the January 15th event. The road race provides a unique opportunity for bands to play to an appreciative audience in a positive, healthy, upbeat environment. Event directors are looking for invigorating, high-energy music to motivate and entertain runners and walkers. Everything from salsa to reggae, R&B to alternative, classic rock to country is welcome. Space is limited, so those interested in jammin' along the course at this premier musical running event should apply now. Sound, stage and promotion are included.
