Athletics: 36th ING New York City Marathon Preview

It has been called the best professional field in the history of the ING New York City Marathon. The women, running for a record guaranteed first place prize of $130,000, are more motivated than ever. The U.S. could see three men in the top 10 since 1987. They are the top athletes in the world. They are ready for the renowned five borough race on Sunday, November 6.

Open Field including Professional Men - 10:10am

TV Coverage

In New York:
The race will be broadcast live exclusively on WNBC Channel 4 for five hours. Telemundo 47 will have live cut-ins during the race as well as segments leading up to the marathon. The WNBC broadcast will begin at 9:00am with the pre-race warm-up and will follow the race through the five boroughs, across the bridges, and over the finish line until 2:00pm. Deena Kastor and Alan Culpepper will be featured on the broadcast team.

In addition, the one-hour highlight show will be on Channel 4 from 2:00-3:00 pm.

In the United States:
NBC Sports will broadcast a one-hour highlights show nationwide beginning at 2:00pm EST on November 6; check your local listings for details. In New York City, it will be on Channel 4.

Around the World:
A one-hour highlights show will be broadcast in nearly 125 countries worldwide.

The official website - INGNYCMarathon.org - has complete information about the race and will include extensive coverage on race day.
