Posted: November 8, 2005 Athletics: Chasing Tradition - A New Way to Follow College Cross Country (Washington DC) A New Website is now offering an Insider’s Perspective on the 2005 College Cross Country Season. The new internet site enables college cross country fans – and all fans of collegiate sports – to experience the 2005 season in an entirely new way. This fall, Matt Taylor is truly Chasing Tradition. Taylor will spend eleven weeks traveling across America getting an up close look at 11 of the nation’s top distance running programs. Taylor’s web site (www.chasingtradition.com) will chronicle every detail of his trip, giving you an exclusive inside look eleven of the nation’s most storied distance running programs. At each University he visits, Taylor will run, eat, drink, sleep and spend nearly every waking moment with the some of the best amateur runners in America. When he’s not with the athletes he’ll be picking the brains of the most renowned coaches in the country, all while soaking up the tradition that brought these teams to the top – and keeps them there. By interacting with the athletes and coaches as they perform their daily routines, Taylor hopes to provide a previously unachieved level of access into these programs. “This is a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and really understand the way of life for these athletes. Each team has its own distinct culture and exclusive traditions, yet they each strive for the same goal – running success.” Stop in at www.chasingtradition.com for daily updates on how these teams train, focus and strive for their eventual goal – a crack at the national championship.
