Triathlon: Emma Snowsill in running for 2005 Mazda/The Courier-Mail Queensland Sportswoman of the Year

Australian triathelete Emma Snowsill, a 24 year-old with dual Australian and New Zealand citizenship, is a candiate for the 2005 Mazda/The Courier-Mail Queensland Sportswoman of the Year.

As a Professional Triathlete Emma is based on Australia's Gold Coast during the Southern Hemisphere summer. Throughout the Northern Hemisphere season she is based in Oregon, USA but might be found anywhere else in the world, either competing on the international elite womens pro-racing circuit or training 24/7 at specifically suited locations.

Her aim in pursuing this lifestyle is to become the very best multi-discipline Triathlete that she can be.

Emma's outstanding record includes the following performances:

. Placed 1st in the Triathlon World Championships in Gamagori, Japan
. Placed 1st in Edmonton World Cup
. 1st woman to cross the line of the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon in Minneapolis to finish fourth overall
. Placed 1st in Honolulu's Waikiki Beach World Cup
. Placed 1st Australian Olympic Distance Championships
. Placed 1st ITU Hobart International Triathlon
. Placed 2nd Mooloolaba World Cup
. Placed 4th Hungary World Cup
. Placed 4th Tisaujvaros World Cup
. Ranked 1st in the ITU rankings
