Commonwealth Games: Getty Images appointed Official Photographer for Melbourne 2006 Games

Getty Images, the world’s leading photography agency, has been appointed Official Photographer for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Building on its strength in sports photography and ongoing association with the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), Getty Images will deploy 16 talented photographers from Australia and abroad to capture the defining moments that make up the 12 day event.

The Getty Images team will also include seven picture editors and a support team to ensure full coverage of all events, including the opening and closing ceremonies.

Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Mr John Harnden, welcomed Getty’s involvement with the Games.
