Triathlon: Ironman China Postponed Until 2007

November 16, 2005 - World Triathlon Corporation is announcing the unfortunate cancellation of the inaugural Ironman China event scheduled for April 23, 2006. The Chinese government has informed Ironman that it will not grant the event permits necessary to hold the event, thereby resulting in the event's cancellation. Ironman will now begin focusing on overcoming the current obstacles and organizing the event for the 2007 season.

Entry fees for all athletes currently registered for the 2006 event will be automatically refunded by credit payments back to the originating accounts. Refunds will be made as soon as possible. Athletes are not required to take any action to obtain their refunds. In addition, all athletes who have registered for the 2006 event will receive a $50.00 (USD) discount on their registration fee should they register for Ironman China 2007.

The Ironman China website is at: www.ironmanchina.com.
