Over 20 athletes are taking part in the Road to Beijing Orientation Camp, having been identified as potential members of Athletics Canada’s 2008 Olympic team. Tyler Christopher is the 400 meters Canadian record holder; he took home the bronze medal in that event at the 2005 IAAF World Championships in Helsinki Finland. Perdita Felicien is the 100 meter hurdles Canadian record holder, she is a 2004 Olympian, and recently was crowned Canadian champion in the 100 meter hurdles, a feat she has completed three times. RJT serves as a tool for coaches to deliver fundamental motor skills to children. The Run, Jump, Throw program is a useful tool in battling child inactivity and obesity, encouraging healthy active living in a fun participatory environment. Most of all, RJT is fun, exciting, and energetic. Athletics Canada is the national sport governing body for the sport of track and field including cross-country running and road running.
