Athletics: Tirunesh Dibaba confirms last-minute entry to the Great Ethiopian Run

Double world champion Tirunesh Dibaba is a last minute entry for the 2005 TOYOTA Great Ethiopian Run 10km road race which will be held on Sunday (November 27, 2005), organizers confirmed this evening.

Dibaba made history last August when winning both the 5,000m and 10,000m titles at the 10th IAAF World Championships in Helsinki in August. The 2005 TOYOTA GER will be her third race since her historic double win in the Finnish capital more than three months ago.

The 19-year old has taken part in the Great Ethiopian Run twice before- winning the event in 2003 and finishing second in 2002. If she wins tomorrow, she will become the first runner to win the event twice in the five-year history of the event.
