Posted: January 15, 2006 Triathlon: Cranberry Country Triathlon To Host 2006 “Best Of The US” Massachusetts Qualifier (St. Paul, MN – 1/14/2005)–– ”Best of the US” Management is pleased to announce that the Cranberry Country Triathlon will host the 2006 “Best of the US” Massachusetts State Qualifier. The fastest male and female resident amateur will earn the right to represent the Bay State at the “Best of the US Championship” in Excelsior, MN on September 16. The Cranberry Country Triathllon, slated for August 27, replaces the Mooseman Quartermax in Bristol, NH, which hosted the 2005 Massachusetts State Qualifier. “We are so happy that the popular Cranberry Country Triathlon is part of this year’s program,” says Jerry MacNeil, “Best of the US” PR Director. “This event was named one of America’s top 100 tris by the readers on Inside Triathlon Magazine in 2005.” The five-year-old Cranberry Country Triathlon will be staged in the picturesque rural countryside near Lakeville in southeast Massachusetts. The event consists of .8 mile swim followed by a 24.9 mile bike leg and a .2 mile run and more than 500 triathletes are expected to participate. Post-race celebratory festivites include a barbecue and live music provided by a local band. Vendors of triathlon gear will also be on hand to meet any of the racers’ last minute needs.
