Posted: January 19, 2006 Triathlon: Castaway Club Triathlon To Host 2006 “Best Of The US” North Dakota Qualifier (St. Paul, MN – 1/18/2006)–– ”Best of the US” Management is pleased to announce that the third annual Castaway Club Triathlon will host the 2006 “Best of the US” North Dakota State Qualifier. The fastest male and female resident amateur will earn the right to represent the Prairie Rose State at the “Best of the US Championship” in Excelsior, MN on September 16. The Castaway Club / Best of the US ND Qualifier, slated for August, consists of a 2/3 mile swim, an 20 mile bike leg and a five mile run and also features a shorter citizen’s event (1/3 mile swim, 10 mile bike and three mile run). It is staged at picturesque Pelican Lake near Detroit Lakes, MN, which is less than a 30 minute drive from Fargo, ND on the Minnesota/North Dakota border. “We selected Castaway Club for several reasons. First of all, it’s a short drive from the North Dakota border. Secondly, the venue and event execution is first-class. And finally, North Dakota’s top athletes have whole-heartedly embraced this event. Last year’s fastest man—Brent Sinn—and the three fastest women—Marlina Walth, Melanie Carvell and Erika Foley—were North Dakota residents. We couldn’t be more pleased that Castaway Club is part of the “Best of..” program,” says Jerry MacNeil, “Best of the US” PR Director. The Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Competition is produced by Midwest Events, LLC of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Comment on this story. |
