Athletics:Get Out Your Running Shoes for the 18th Annual Bill McCaffrey Road Race

LEBANON, NH—This year’s 18th Annual Bill McCaffrey Road Race, consisting of a 5K Road Race and 1-Mile Run/Walk, will take place on Sunday, April 30, 2006, at the Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital campus. The 1-Mile Run/Walk will start at 9: 30 a.m. and the competitive 5K Road Race will begin at 10:00 a.m. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.

The Bill McCaffrey Road Race attracts hundreds of 5K runners from all over New England. Its challenging course offers athletes the perfect spring training environment and families a fun and healthy activity.

The entry fee for the 5K Road Race is $15 if received before April 27; after April 27 the fee is $20. The first 150 entries for the 5K Road Race will receive a free T-shirt. The entry fee for the 1-Mile Run/Walk is $5, and $6 after April 27. Participants under the age of 9 or over the age of 65 are invited to be part of the 1-Mile Run/Walk free of charge.

The 5K Road Race will award prizes to the male and female with the best overall times and the top three runners, male and female, in the following age groups: 18 & under, 19–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69 and 70+.; there will also be random drawings for prizes for participants in both the 5K Road Race and the 1-Mile Run/Walk. Pre-race health screenings and post- race refreshments will be provided.

All proceeds from the race will benefit the Hospital’s Extended Care Facility nursing home.
