Writing for the Times of London, athletics correspondent David Powell reports today that tomorrow's announcement by five of the world's richest commercial marathons (Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York) will unveil a two-year ranking system which will lead to a sizable reward for the winners. The program will be called the World Marathon Majors.

"It is understood that the highest-ranked man and woman, based on his or her four best results over a two-year period, will each earn a six-figure jackpot," Powell writes.

Tomorrow, there will be press conferences in both Boston and London where the details of this program will be revealed by race officials. RRW will have coverage from the Boston press conference provided by Parker Morse, who will be submitting a same-day story.
