Posted: February 10, 2006 Athletics: Hospital Hill Run Announces Sponsor for USA Women's Half-Marathon Championship The Hospital Hill Run, presented by Saint Luke's Health System, has announced Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City as a sponsor for the 2006 USA Women's Half-Marathon Championship. The national championship will be hosted by the Hospital Hill Run in Kansas City, Mo. on Saturday, June 3. "We're excited that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City has stepped up to support the Hospital Hill Run and the USA Women's Half-Marathon Championships," said Race Director Lisa Drake. "Their support will allow us to provide some of the best women in the U.S. with a great racing experience in Kansas City." The 33rd Hospital Hill Run, which also hosted the USA Men's Half-Marathon Championship from 2002-04, is also part of the 2006 USA Running Circuit (USARC), a USA Track & Field road race series featuring national championships from 5K to the marathon. 2006 USA Women's Half-Marathon Championship prize money - made possible from support from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City - will go ten deep: $5000, $3000, $2000, $1000, $500, $400, $300, $250, $150 and $100.
