Posted: February 20, 2006 Triathlon: Buckeye Lake International Triathlon To Host 2006 “Best Of The US” Ohio Qualifier (St. Paul, MN – 2/20/2006)–– ”Best of the US” Management is pleased to announce that the 16rd annual BUCKEYE LAKE INTERNATIONAL TRIATHLON will host the official 2006 “Best of the US” Ohio State Qualifier. The fastest male and female resident amateurs will earn the right to represent the Buckeye State at the “Best of the US Championship” in Excelsior, MN on September 16. Ohio was well represented in 2005 by the husband/wife team of Scott and Andrea Myers from Wellton. Scott finished a satisfying 6th at the “Best of the US Championship” at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH; Andrea placed 15th in the women’s race, The BUCKEYE LAKE INTERNAIONAL TRIATHLON, which features Olympic and sprint distance races (the Olympic race is the qualifier), is slated for July 16 and will be staged at beautiful Buckeye Lake in Millersport, east of Columbus. It replaces the Caesar Creek International Triathlon, which is scheduled on the same weekend this year as the USAT National Age Group Championships. Both Caesar Creek and Buckeye Lake are part of the popular Wheelie Fun Tri & Du Series, the longest running multisport series in America. The BUCKEYE LAKE races are expertly produced by HFP Racing. “HFP Racing produced three qualifying events in 2005 (OH, WV and KY) and did a fantastic job. They’re producing two qualifiers (OH and WV) this year. We’re very happy to have a continuing relationship with Shannon Kurek, Scott Erdman and their HFP team,” says Jerry MacNeil, “Best of the US” PR Director. “Athletes in the Ohio Valley can always find a first class race, thanks to HFP Racing.” For more information on BUCKEYE LAKE INTERNATIONAL, visit http://www.bestoftheustriathletes.com/states/OH or http://www.hfpracing.com. The Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Competition is produced by Midwest Events, LLC of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Comment on this story. |
