Adventure Racing: Date Change For Peak To Peak

March 7th 2006: The date of the Peak to Peak has changed to the 22nd July '06.

In the previous 12 year the Peak to Peak has always been on the last Saturday of the Winter Festival but organisers, Southern Traverse Ltd have decided this year to shift to a later date of the 22nd July.

The date change will allow for the possibility of better snow cover for the ski leg and to remove the event from the crowded event timetables and school holiday periods.

It is also anticipated that the event will attract more media coverage as a stand alone event.

A new web site has been developed for all Southern Traverse Ltd events and the Peak to Peak site is available on www.southerntraverse.com/peak2peak This new site will allow competitor updating and contains news and features and photo galleries from previous events.

Other Southern Traverse Ltd event dates released today, include the TrustPower Adventure Quest on the 30th Sept and the 24 Hours of Southern Traverse set for the Queenstown area on the 4-5th November.
