Posted: March 16, 2006 Athletics: Registration Record For Prague Half-Marathon From David Monti © 2006 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com by Bob Ramsak A record 5000 runners will participate in the eighth edition of the Hervis Prague International Half-Marathon on Saturday, April 1, organizers announced. Elite entrants include Kenyans Willy Cheruiyot, Eliud Lagat and Isaace Kiprono and Danilo Goffi of Italy. Silas Kirui set the men's course record of 1:01:07 last year, while Catherine Kirui holds the women's record of 1:10:38 from 2004. The race is considered one of the most picturesque in central Europe. Starting on Prague's Charles Bridge, it continues through the Czech capital's Josefov, old jewish Quarter and Old town neighborhoods before steering the runners pst the National Theater and along the Vltava River.
