Just a few days after his double medal performance at the World Indoor Championships, high hurdler Terrence Trammell is already looking ahead towards the spring. Among his first stops will be the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic, which will celebrate its 45th running on Tuesday, May 30.

The 27-year-old American sped to his second world indoor title in the 60 meter hurdles in Moscow with a 7.42 effort, the fastest in the world this year. The day before, he took bronze in the 60 meters. In Ostrava, Trammell said he'll be aiming for Allen Johnson's meet record of 13.12.

"I liked the meet in 2004, now I want to come back and try for the win," the two-time Olympic silver medallist said. Trammell finished third in the 2004 Ostrava race.

"We do not have any big championships this year so I can concentrate more on fast times and meetings. My goal is clear --to attack 13 seconds." Trammell ran his personal best of 13.02 at the 2005 national championships.

Organizers also announced that a hammer throw competition will be the held the day before the meeting, providing hammer throwers a rare opportunity to compete on the newly redesigned IAAF World Athletics Tour. World champion Ivan Tikhon from Belarus is on the slate.

Jan Zelezny, the world record holder in the javelin, will be gunning for his tenth Ostrava win. The Golden Spike is the only domestic meet on the Czech's farewell tour. The 39-year-old, who set the current world record of 98.48m [321-3] in 1996, will conclude his career in 2006.
