Athletics: Herbalife Sponsors the World's Largest Cross Country Race

Herbalife (NYSE:HLF) will be the official nutrition sponsor of theLidingoloppet cross country race in Sweden, the world's largest crosscountry race.

The race takes place September 22nd - 24th when approximately30,000 runners from around the globe come to take part in thethree-day sport festival held on the Lidingo island outside Stockholm.

More than 300 Herbalife staff and independent distributors willtake part in the event as well as offer sampling opportunities forparticipants and spectators.

The Lidingoloppet, or 'Lidingo Run' is an event where everyoneparticipates with a different personal challenge -- some to win, someto improve on last year and some to just enjoy a great day out. Itattracts thousands of spectators.

All the races are held over one long weekend, with categoriesincluding a 30km men's race, a 10km for women, a 1.7km and 4km course,a relay race for male, female and mixed teams, and a children'scourse.

Nordic region director Borre Gjersvik said: "As a key worldwidesporting event and one of the best known in Sweden, we are delightedto be involved in Lidingoloppet. This sponsorship is one of a seriesof similar alliances around the world that is taking the Herbalifename to a much more diverse audience than ever before and underliningour commitment as a company committed to healthy active lifestyles."

Herbalife is also the official nutrition sponsor of the LondonMichelob ULTRA Triathlon, Nautica Malibu Triathlon, Laguna PhuketTriathlon and participated in Trofeu Brasil de Triathlon in 2005. Thecompany also sponsors UK-based triathlete Olly Freeman and U.S.triathlete Erika Aklufi. Other major sponsorships include the AVP ProVolleyball Tournament, LA Galaxy, Toray Pan Pacific Open TennisTournament and the Tour of California, among others.
