Triathlon: World Triathlon Corporation Announces the Postponement of Scandinavia Ironman 70.3

March 20, 2006 – Today, World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) announces the postponement of the inaugural Scandinavia Ironman 70.3 that was scheduled to take place on August 20, 2006. The event was to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark and would serve as a qualifying event for the inaugural Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 on November 11, 2006 in Clearwater, FL. Due to unforeseeable operational challenges, the team from Club La Santa will now be focused on organizing and preparing for the 2007 event.

Ironman 70.3 Series Events Director, Steve Meckfessel comments, “During the development of any new event, operational challenges are a regular part of the process. We are working closely with the team at Club La Santa and are all very confident that the event will take place in 2007.”
