Posted: April 5, 2006 Athletics: Toronto Marathon Joins Running USA The Toronto Marathon, which runs through the neighborhoods of Canada’s largest and most diverse city, has joined Running USA. The 12th annual race will be held on October 15, 2006 and will allow runners to enjoy the sights and sounds of autumn on a beautiful, net downhill course. In addition to the marathon, race weekend activities include half marathon, 5K, and marathon relay races as well as a two-day expo and pasta dinner. Marathon finishers in 2006 will receive an attractive, newly designed 3” medal. The race provides support for the Princess Margaret Hospital. To date, the race has generated more than $2.5 million for the hospital’s breast and prostate cancer programs and another $2.2 million for other affiliated charities.
