Athletics: Sun Run Registration Numbers Closing in on Record

Still Time to Register for the Big Event!

(April 18, 2006) With the 2006 Vancouver Sun Run and the Sun Run Fair Package Pick-up fast approaching, registration numbers indicate this could be one of the biggest Sun Runs in history! 46,559 (as of April 17) have already registered! Final registration deadline is April 22. The biggest field to date was in 2003 with 49,734 registered.

Registration details for the Sun Run and the Shaw Mini Sun Run:

You can register by fax or online at sunrun.com until Midnight tonight, April 18.

After tonight, register in person only at the Sun Run Fair, April 21 and 22 at BC Place Stadium (777 Pacific Boulevard), the location for this year’s race package pick-up.

The 2006 Sun Run is Sunday, April 23, getting underway at 9 a.m. in downtown Vancouver. The Shaw Mini Sun Run starts at 8 a.m.

Registration fees for the 10k Vancouver Sun Run is $40.00 and for the Shaw Mini Sun Run - $22. (Adults or escorts must accompany the children in the Shaw Mini Sun Run – all adult escorts or parents must register. There is no fee for adult escorts or parents unless a T-shirt is requested.) All fees include a souvenir 100% cotton T-shirt featuring artwork by Vancouver artist, Tiko Kerr. Kids get a paint-your-own T-shirt and a box of paints.
