Athletics: Final Savings Offer on the Country Music Marathon & Half-Marathon Entry Fees

Health and Fitness Expo Free and Open to Public

NASHVILLE, TN, April 19, 2006 - The seventh annual Country Music Marathon & ˝ Marathon is set to hit the streets of Nashville on Saturday, April 29, 2006. Online registration for the event closes on April 23. The current entry fees are $85 for the marathon and $70 for the half marathon. Runners will have the final opportunity to register at the Health & Fitness Expo. Entry fees will increase to $100 for the marathon and $90 for the half marathon at the Expo.

The Country Music Marathon & ˝ Marathon Health and Fitness Expo will be held at the Nashville Convention Center on Thursday, April 27, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Friday, April 28, 11:00 AM-7:00 PM. This bonanza starts the weekend off on the right note with over 75 exhibits featuring free samples, the latest running shoes and sports apparel, games, and health & nutrition products. Drop into various clinics to learn everything you need to know to have a great race and swing by the Official Souvenir store for the latest event gear. The Expo is free and open to the public.

Race organizers expect this years race to grow to over 23,000 runners. The event will once again feature 50 live bands playing along the course, 25 high school cheer squads to keep your energy pumping, a fantastic finish line festival and a post-race concert featuring Phil Vassar and the Nashville Star finalists.

The event is recognized as the ultimate tour of Music City, USA, from historic sites like the Parthenon, Nashville's world-renowned Music Row and a spectacular finish outside the Coliseum on the Cumberland River. The course will continue to be as fun and scenic as each of the previous events.
