Athletics: Herbalife Sponsors Poland's Premier Marathon Event

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2006--Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF - News) announced its sponsorship of the Warszawski Festiwal Biegowy (Warsaw Run Festival), which includes Poland's largest marathon event as its center piece. The three day sporting event, which also comprises a marathon relay, a fun run and expo, is held September 15-17, 2006.

Originally open only to professional athletes when it was founded at the beginning of the 20th century, the Warsaw Marathon now attracts a wide range of participants from all walks of life. Last year attracted a record field of more than 2,000 runners from 30 countries and five continents and several thousand more spectators.

As official sponsor, Herbalife joins a significant range of dynamic brand names including marathon title sponsor Flora. As part of the three year sponsorship deal which runs through 2008, the traditional fun run will be renamed the "Herbalife Fun Run."

Dozens of Herbalife staff and independent distributors will take part in the event as part of Team Herbalife. Last year the company was awarded the title of "Running Friendly Company" for having the largest number of participants in the event.

Herbalife is also the official nutrition sponsor of the London Michelob ULTRA Triathlon, Nautica Malibu Triathlon, Laguna Phuket Triathlon and participated in the Trofeu Brasil de Triathlon in 2005. The company also sponsors UK-based triathlete Olly Freeman and U.S. triathlete Erika Aklufi. Other major sponsorships include the AVP Pro Volleyball Tournament, LA Galaxy, Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament, Lidingoloppet, the world's largest cross country race based in Sweden, and the Holmenkollstaffeten relay race in Norway.
