Athletics: Victory, National Record For Kastor In London

Deena Kastor shattered her own American record today en route to her win at the Flora London Marathon.

Kastor, the pre-race favorite following the withdrawal of world record holder Paula Radcliffe, clocked 2:19:35 unofficially to become the fourth fastest woman to ever cover the distance, easily bettering her previous best of 2:21:16 set in this race three years ago when she finished third. The 33-year-old became only the eighth woman to complete the distance in under 2:20.
