Posted: April 26, 2006 Athletics: Canada announces 2006 Penn Relays team OTTAWA – Athletics Canada announced today the athletes that will take part in the “USA versus the World” relay events of the 112th edition of the Penn Relay Carnival. The Penn Relays take place at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. National team head coach Les Gramantik knows the importance of this event; “The Penn Relays represents an important stage of our relay program each and every year. It allows us to compete in a great environment, early in the season, and have a good opportunity to evaluate our program.” Athletics Canada Penn Relays team
USA vs. the World Schedule – Saturday April 29th Women’s 4X100m 2:10PM *Women’s Sprint Medley Relay consists of 200m X 200m X 400m X 800m In its 111-year history, the Penn Relay Carnival has provided competition for more athletes than any other track meet in the world. The Penn Relay Carnival is a massive event that includes high level competition for high school, college and masters (over 40) athletes. The Penn Relay Carnival will feature 336 competitions in several different events and host thousands of athletes. NBC Sports will broadcast the USA vs. the World races on Sunday April 30th at 5 p.m. EST. Athletics Canada is the national sport governing body for the sport of track and field including cross-country running and road running.
