Triathlon: Lotte Branigan & Company Earn Invitations To Compete At “Best Of The US Championship”

(St. Paul, MN – 4/25/06) Three state qualifiers were contested on the weekend of April 22-23. Midwest Events, LLC and "Best of the US" Management congratulate the following athletes, who have earned invitations to represent themselves and their home states at the 2006 "Best of the US Championship" in Excelsior, MN on September 16.

FLORIDA:  Dustin McLarty (Deland) & Lotte Branigan (Juno Beach)
NEVADA: Greg Philip (Reno) & Karen Lasko (Henderson)
VIRGINIA/DC:  Doug Marocco (Montclair) & Lynn Scharf (Falls Church)

* Lotte Branigan, who was runner-up in the 2005 USAT Female Athlete of the Year polling, represented Florida at the Championship in 2005, finishing 2nd overall in the women's race.

* Lynn Scharf, 23, VA/DC female representative, was racing for the first time at Kinetic Sprint on April 23. She recently received an M.S. from the University of Maryland, where she was the staring goalkeeper on the women's soccer team.
