Highlights for May include:
- The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run in Washington, D.C. features a stellar international women’s field, a world record and a spectacular tour of the national monuments.
- Seven thousand “Run As One” showing their enthusiasm and support for lung cancer research in the Thomas G. Labrecque Classic, presented by JPMorgan Chase, a New York Road Runners event.
- Moving west, the 21st running of the City of Los Angeles Marathon features some serious “California dreaming”, over 25,000 starters, and men chasing women.
- The wheelchair racers are pushing the envelope with unprecedented fitness and speed. Ernst van Dyk’s record shattering performance in L.A.. – a Michelob Ultra “Great Moment in Racing.”
- The Scotland Run, a New York Road Runners event, begins with a flurry from the bagpipes and launches a festive Tartan Week in New York City.
- Over 10,000 starters and a mix of elite Kenyans, Japanese and Americans take scenic route around town in the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run in Washington, D.C.
- Thousands like the California sun and the surf in the oceanfront Carlsbad 5000, but the elites of the world come here for one reason…to go fast.
- A 5k underwater? The Lincoln Tunnel Challenge, a benefit for Special Olympics New Jersey, sends the field under the river…and back.
