Race director Wallie Jahn has revised the prize money for the New Balance Moonlight Run 5-K, scheduled for Friday night, May 26, in New Millford, Conn.

Prize money will now be paid 5-deep: $1000, 500, 250, 150, 100, and there is an additional $250 bonus available to the male and female race winners if they break the existing course records of 13:58 set by Patrick Nthiwa of Kenya in 2003 and 15:51 set by Breeda Dennehy of Ireland in 1998.

The race is held on an essentially flat, out and back course conducive to fast times for elites and recreational runners, alike. Less than a two hour drive from New York City, for the last 12 years it has become a Connecticut running tradition to start off the Memorial Day three-day weekend at this race. Despite heavy thundershowers just in advance of last year's race, 767 athletes still completed the course

Elite athletes or their representatives can contact Jahn at roadntracksports@sbcglobal.net to get more information about the race, and anyone can enter at the race's official website at www.roadntracksports.com.
