Triathlon: A week of superlatives at the IRONMAN France – Nice Triathlon in June

In its only second edition, the IRONMAN France has become an event of superlatives: one of the most international races on the Ironman circuit with athletes from 49 nations worldwide, the biggest expo within an Ironman, the best speakers of this planet and bands that will make the crowds move. Be sure you too become a Star on the Côte d'Azur on June 25th!

In less than six weeks, TRIANGLE France will do it again! The IRONMAN France - Nice Triathlon made its call, and the triathlon world answered: 1169 athletes from 49 Nations have signed up for the ultimate triathlon on the Cote d'Azur so far. "We lost many French athletes who believed in the rumours the FFTRI began to circulate in autumn. But the rest of the World has proven their confidence in us and has signed up for the most beautiful Ironman in Nice!" says a happy Yves Cordier, race director of the top that endurance has to offer.

French athletes, however, are still the biggest group of participants: 33% of the athletes come from the Grande Nation. Second is the United Kingdom with 15% of the participants on the Cote, followed by Germany with 10%. The United States send a delegation of 9% of all athletes, and both Italy and Suisse will be represented by 4% of the overall number of athletes each. Registration is still open for two more weeks.

But nationalities are not the only record breaking factor at this second edition of the IRONMAN on the French Riviera. The Herbalife Expo Village attracted 31 different exhibitors with more than 50 stands – and there are more registrations to come. Some highlights: 5 days animation with rock groups that won national radio competitions, a glass swimming pool in the middle of the expo where athletes can test wetsuits, a cafeteria inviting you to relax, and 50.000 visitors awaited.

Listing the speakers and DJs for the Ironman is like reading the “who is who” in animation: Don Ryder (CAN) who gets spectators at the annual IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii informed; MikeMike (GER) who not only gets crowds moving at the best IRONMAN events in Europe but also just signed a contract for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Florida; DJane Sonja (GER) presenting the right vibes at the right time (also at the World Championship in Florida); Michel Hortala (FRA) who will take care that every visitor of the Herbalife Expo Village knows the right times for the right sweepstake, and Style (FRA) who is popular in France for his extreme sports reports.

740 seated places on grandstands at the Finishline, numerous bands performing along the run course and animations in the villages of the hinterland will make sure the athletes have a good race and that spectators will have the perfect mix of show and sports to spend a wonderful day with the IRONMAN France - Nice Triathlon on June 25th.
