Posted: May 23, 2006 Triathlon: “Best Of The US” Invites California’s Best To Race At The Santa Cruz Triathlon On July 9 (St. Paul, MN – 5/232006)–– “Best of the US” Management and Race Directors Mike Bennett and Carlo Facchino (By the Beach Productions, Inc.) invite the triathletes of the Golden State to race at the 9th annual SANTA CRUZ TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US CALIFORNIA QUALIFIER, a very popular international distance event in Aptos, CA on July 9. California may be America’s most talent-rich triathlon state. Among those that we hope to see at Santa Cruz are 2005 representative Christen King (5th at the 2005 BOUS Championship.), as well Erika Aklufi, Patrick Baldwin, Holger Beckmann, Christine Brown, Mary Beth Cadwell, Kathryn Donovan, Gabrielle Goodman, Sorrel Hanson, Kyle Hughes, Michael Ingardia, Sami Inkinen, Pete Kain, Holly Nybo, Kiki Rutkowski, Michael Sevier, Scott Silver, Mindy Surratt, Nicholas Thompson, Katrina Tobin, Michelle Wedemeyer and Kathy Winkler. 2005 men’s representative Jim Vance (Inside Triathlon’s 2005 Triathlete of the Year and 5th place finisher at the BOUS Championship) has gotten his pro card and thus is ineligible to repeat as California’s delegate. The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent California at the “Best of the US National Championship” on September 16 at Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior, MN. Any male/female combination of the abovementioned athletes (and many others!) will give the Golden State a podium-worthy presence at the Championship. For more information on the Santa Cruz International Triathlon, visit www.bestoftheustriathletes.com or www.bythebeachproductions.com. The Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Competition is produced by Midwest Events, LLC of Saint Paul, Minnesota. |
