Multisport: Lance Watson and Lucy Smith to speak at Pfizer Health and Fitness Expo in Ottawa

Canadian Olympic Gold Medal Coach Lance Watson and National Run Champion Lucy Smith teach you the essentials of transitioning from runner to triathlete (and back again!).

Join Lance and Lucy at the National Capital Ottawa Race Weekend speaker series. Lance will also be at the PowerBar booth in the race expo on Saturday from 1:30-3:00 to answer your training and racing questions.

About Lance and Lucy:

Lance Watson has coached triathlon and distance running for 20 years. He represented Canada as a coach at the 2000 Olympics, 2002 Commonwealth Games and 2003 Pan American Games, and was the 2004 Olympic Games Team Head Coach (Triathlon). In 2000, Lance coached Simon Whitfield to Olympic Gold. He has also coached Aussie Greg Bennett to a World #1 ranking, and is coach of 10-time Ironman Champion Lisa Bentley. He has been “Triathlon Canada Elite Coach Of The Year” in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2005.

Lucy Smith is a 15 time National Champion in distance running, and multisport. Lucy is a versatile athlete who has represented Canada several times at the World Cross Country Championship, won a silver medal at the World Duathlon Championships, and has placed 7th at Ironman New Zealand. Prior to the birth of her son in 2005, she was ranked #1 in Canada for the 10,000m. Lucy balances international competition with motherhood and coaching.
