Posted: May 25, 2006 Triathlon: PCH News - McGlone Wins Ironman 70.3 Florida Samantha McGlone won her second major half Ironman race of the season last weekend with an easy win at the Ironman 70.3 Florida race. Sam was 4th out of the water and caught the leaders about halfway through the bike course and then rode comfortably into transition with Leanda Cave. McGlone and Cave ran together for opening 7km of the run course when McGlone took the lead and cruised to a 2 minute victory and a new course record. For details, visit www.floridahalfironman.com . Griesbauer, Dede (USA) : 4:29:26 Legh And Bozzone 1-2 At Ironman 70.3 Baja Chris Legh established himself as a favorite to win the Ironman 70.3 World Championship later in the season with a convincing win at Ironman 70.3 Baja, Mexico over the weekend. Legh and Terenzo Bozzone entered the bike to run transition together with Bozzone taking a small lead onto the run course. Legh caught Bozzone about 6 miles into the run and then moved clear. Bozzone finished second. In the women’s race, Kate Major furthered her preparations for Ironman Coeur d Alene next month by finishing 5th behind Mirinda Carfrae in a deep women’s field.
