Triathlon: Nevada Silverman Triathlon Announces Firefighter Challenge

The N. Las Vegas Fire Department is Challenging all Other Southern Nevada Fire Departments in the Nevada Silverman Triathlon

HENDERSON, Nev. – June 5, 2006 – Frank Lowery, of Lowery’s Multisport Races, announced today the City of North Las Vegas Fire Department has formed a relay team to compete in the Nevada Silverman Triathlon. The Fire Department is challenging all other Southern Nevada Fire Departments to enter the race. The Nevada Silverman Triathlon is a full-distance triathlon consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run held annually in Henderson, Nevada.

“We are thrilled to have the City of North Las Vegas Firefighters as part of our corporate challenge,” said Lowery. “We hope that the other Southern Nevada Fire Departments will step up to the plate and enter the race.”

The Triathlon has established a corporate challenge for all Southern Nevada Corporations. Findlay Volkswagen was the first corporation to step up to the plate and is challenging other Southern Nevada car dealerships in the race. All corporations have to do is establish a three person relay team or teams to compete in the Silverman Corporate Relay. Another way for corporations to get involved is by establishing groups of volunteers for the aide stations on race day. On race day the Triathlon will recognize those corporations with the most involvement in the race. The Silverman Triathlon is a full-distance triathlon held in Henderson, Nevada. Branded as the toughest course in North America by "The Man" himself, Dave Scott, and echoed by the 244 finishers from 2005, the Nevada Silverman is sure to attract individuals and relay teams from around the world in 2006.
