Posted: June 13, 2006 Triathlon: “Best Of The US” Invites Washington’s Elite To Race At The Tri Without Borders Triathlon On August 13 (St. Paul, MN – 6/12/2006)–– “Best of the US” Management and Total Health Events invite the triathletes of the Evergreen State to race at the inaugural TRI WITHOUT BORDERS / BEST OF THE US WASHINGTON QUALIFIER, a promising new Olympic distance race that will start in White Rock, BC and finish in Blaine, WA. This “international” event is slated for August 13. Washington has no shortage of tri talent. Some of the elite male triathletes we hope to see on August 13 include Mike Bresson, Ryan Brown, John Duquette, Michael Montgomery, Steve Nicholls, Jonathan Salerno and Jeff Smith. Washington’s 2005 representative Chris Tremonte has procured a pro license, thus is ineligible to compete for a BOUS berth this year. Top Washington women we hope to see include Haley Cooper, Julie Desramaux, Heidi Grimm, who placed 3rd at the 2005 BOUS Championship, Meredith Han, Jordan McCammond, Stacia McInnes and Kelly Molaski. Grimm and Tremonte finished 3rd in the Fastest State Competition in 2005. The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Washington at the “Best of the US National Championship” on September 16 at Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior, MN. Any combination of the abovementioned male and female triathletes would assure a formidable presence for Washington at the Championship. For more information on the Tri Without Borders Triathlon, visit www.bestoftheustriathletes.co or www.triwithoutborders.com. The Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Competition is produced by Midwest Events, LLC of Saint Paul, Minnesota. |
