Posted: June 22, 2006 Athletics: Stormy Weather Hitting Indianapolis From David Monti © 2006 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com INDIANAPOLIS (22-Jun) -- Heavy rain, accompanied by thunder and lightening, hit here this afternoon and forced officials to halt the U.S. Junior Outdoor Championships. In fact, the meet organizers were forced to clear Carroll Stadium of all spectators because of the potential danger associated with lightening. The competition will resume later this afternoon after the storm has passed, and will no doubt push back the schedule of the AT&T U.S. Outdoor Championships which were scheduled to resume at 3:35 p.m. with the first round of the women's steeplechase.
