Posted: June 28, 2006 Triathlon: “Best Of The US” Invite Massachusetts’ Elite To Race At The Cranberry Country Triathlon On August 27 (St. Paul, MN – 6/29/2006)–– “Best of the US” Management and Race Directors Eric Averill and Mark Walter invite the triathletes of the Bay State to race at the 5th annual CRANBERRY COUNTRY TRIATHLON / BEST OF THE US MASSACHUSETTS QUALIFIER, a popular Intermediate distance race that will be staged at Ted Williams Camp in Lakeville, MA, on August 27. The event was voted one of the top 100 races in America by Inside Triathlon Magazine. Elite amateur triathletes are plentiful in the Bay State. Among the elite male triathletes we hope to see on August 27 are (alphabetically) George Bent, Thomas Casparis, PJ Deschenes, Noiel Fontaine, JP Gowdy (2005 MA BOUS Representative), Jeff Hunt, Jesse Kropelnicki, Paul Miller, Carmen Monks, Brian Noyes, Matt Nuffort, Christopher Ramsey and Tim Snow. Top women we hope to see on the starting line include Lolly Brilliant, Kevyn Fusco, Juli Jones (2005 MA BOUS Representative) , Karen Mackin, Karen Monks, decorated former professional Juli Nievergelt, Christina Robeson and Caitlin Shea-Kenney. Additionally, the decorated 23U brother/sister tandem Jarrod and Jenna Shoemacher, who race on the international pro/23U scene, are technically amateurs, and as such, are eligible for BOUS slots. Jarrod is the reigning 23U World Champion. The fastest male and female resident amateurs will receive invitations to represent Massachusetts at the “Best of the US National Championship” on September 16 at Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior, MN. Any combination of the above mentioned male and female triathletes would assure a strong presence for Massachusetts at the Championship. For more information on the Cranberry Country Triathlon visit www.bestoftheustriathletes.com or www.cranberrycountrytri.com. The Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Competition is produced by Midwest Events, LLC of Saint Paul, Minnesota. |
