Posted: July 6, 2006 Athletics: Results from Meet #3 of Eastern Canadian High Performance Series OTTAWA – Meet #3 of the Eastern Canadian High Performance Series wrapped-up yesterday at Terry Fox Athletic Facility in Ottawa, Ontario with a few highlight performances. Adrienne Power won the women’s 100m dash in a time of 11.56 seconds, Esther Akinsulie won the women’s 400m in front of a hometown crowd in a time of 54.50 seconds. The men’s 400m was exciting as Bobby Young (47.60) from Liberia edged out Simoncito Silvera (47.91) of Venezuela by 31 tenths of a second. Todd Pyper (47.92) of Ottawa was 3rd, one tenth of a second behind Silvera. Follow this link for the full meet results. The next meet in the series takes place tomorrow (July 7th) in Sherbrooke, Québec. Sherbrooke will also be the site of the 2006 Canadian Junior Track and Field Championship July 21st to 23rd.
