Athletics: Team In Training Seeks Valley Runners and Walkers

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society begins training for the fourth annual P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ˝ Marathon

PHOENIX, Ariz., (July 17, 2006)- Runners and walkers in the Valley of the Sun can receive expert training for the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ˝ Marathon and raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with Team In Training (TNT). The TNT information meetings and Kick-Off Party is the first step on the road to the rock 'n' roll finish line. First-time marathoners and experienced runners are invited to attend one of the information meetings in the Valley of the Sun throughout July.

TNT is the signature fundraising program for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, providing coaching and training for successfully walking or running a marathon. TNT participants receive a daily fitness program prepared by world-class coaches, a support team of walkers and runners and expert advice on form and technique, race strategies, strength and flexibility, and much more. TNT participants are also guaranteed entry into the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ˝ Marathon, as well as, receive travel and accommodations for the event.

Most importantly, each Team In Training member is matched with an Honored Leukemia Patient, providing added motivation while training, racing, and raising funds for research and patient aid programs.

TNT has raised over $125 million (net) for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through its seven-year partnership with Elite Racing's musical marathons.

The P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ˝ Marathon is set to rock the Valley of the Sun on Jan. 14, 2007. The course runs through the cities of Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe and will feature live bands along each mile, over 40 local high school cheerleading squads on the routes, and a headliner concert following the race. The weekend begins with a two-day Health & Fitness Expo at the Phoenix Convention Center.
