Posted: July 19, 2006 Running: Anne Lundblad Selected To Represent U.S. At 100K World Cup From David Monti © 2006 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com According to a July 18th release made by USATF (USATF.org) , Asheville NC resident, Anne Riddle Lundblad, has been selected to represent the U.S. at the 100k World Championship that will be held in Misari, South Korea on October 8th, 2006. Last year, she led the U.S. team to a gold medal as she finished 2nd at the 100k World Cup in held in Japan. When asked how she feels about being selected to be on this year's team she says, "I'm pleased to be on this year's World Cup team. I believe that this year's women's team is the strongest we've had in years, and I'm excited to see what kind of results we can post on an international level. As far as my own training, I've had to adjust my training a bit due to a late spring injury. Right now I'm focusing on rebuilding a solid base. I plan to race some shorter distances in the coming months to focus on leg speed. This year's course (outside of Seoul, South Korea) is supposed to be a flat, fast one, so I'm hoping to better my performance from last year." Anne Lundblad MS LCSW is speaking on Mental Training to a Shut In Training group this evening outside of Asheville NC at the Folk Art Center, located off of the US Parkway at 6pm. She speaks regularly to groups training around the Asheville area. From: Asheville Race Training/ Jonathan Poston.
