OTTAWA – The 2006 TransCanada Canadian 10km Road Race Championships will take place October 7th in Ottawa. The championships will welcome the general public also serving as a mass participation race.
Martin Goulet, Athletics Canada Chief High Performance Officer, knows the competition will be of high calibre; “It’s obvious that the chosen date, the flat course and great host city will ensure quality championships, adding glamour to the event. Our best long distance running athletes as well as all other qualified runners through provincial programs will be ready in early October for a high quality race.” With the race starting and finishing at the National War Museum, and most of the course following the beautiful Ottawa River Parkway, Goulet adds that it will be a beautiful backdrop for the event; “The sightseeing along the Outaouais River will also add to the interest and enthusiasm."
