Multisport: USA Hauls In Eleven Golds At Aquathlon World Championships

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (August 30, 2006) - The United States hauled in 26 medals at the International Triathlon Union Aquathlon World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland on Wednesday. Included in the total are 11 gold medals.

On the elite side, Sara McLarty grabbed the women`s title and Jordan Lyons earned a bronze in the junior elite girls race. Joe Umphenour was seventh in the men`s elite race, while Greg Billington and Zack Paris finished first and third, respectively, for the junior boys.

For the age groupers, Sharon BeltranDelrio was the top American female finisher, grabbing sixth place overall and finishing second in her 35-39 age group. For the men, Brody Reid was seventh overall and finished second in the 25-29 age group.
