The duo never lost in Golden League competition this season. Wariner closed out his perfect run in the men's 400 with a victory in Berlin 44.26 seconds, while Richards defeated the women's field by more than a second with a time of 49.81.

For their perfection, Wariner and Richards each won a $249,999 share of the Golden League jackpot. Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell also won an equal share, winning the men's 100 meters in Berlin in 9.86 for his sixth Golden League win.
